BRIEFING / SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
LEG10 – Volvo Ocean Race Game
Stockholm - St. Petersburg


The fleet will be sailing across the Baltic, and then east down the Gulf of Finland to St Petersburg in late June.

That means they are entitled to hope for clear skies and warm sunshine for the finale. But at that time of year sunshine brings light air, and it will be a slow final leg. The alternative is usually that it is blowing dogs off chains and raining.

THE START
Thursday, 25 June 2009, Starting Signal 14:00 local time ( CEST*)

THE COURSE
Length approx. 400 Nm
Start in Stockholm - Finish in Saint Petersburg.

Routing
START - STOCKHOLM (59º 16'N 018º 56'E)
FINISH ** - ST PETERSBURG (60º 05'N 029º 10'E)

* Central European Summer Time (GMT +2)
** The finish zone is a large circle with a 30 Nm radius.
